Our Mission

Concordia Seminary exists to help congregations flourish in ministry. We serve church and world by providing theological education and leadership centered in the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ for the formation of pastors, missionaries, deaconesses, scholars, and leaders in the name of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Since 1839, our number one job has been preparing pastors who can lead congregations in sharing God's love in Christ across a wide range of communities and sizes.

We have several different formation programs, resources for congregational leaders, and a doctoral program. In everything we do, we emphasize four core values:

Faithfulness to the Scriptures and Confessions
Servanthood to Christ and His Church
Responsiveness to the contemporary context of the world
